If you find yourself out and about in the beautiful English Lake District then keep a watchful eye open for a Lakeland Bear. Dressed in smart outdoor clothing, you might be lucky enough to spot one walking in the hills, rock climbing or simply sitting in a quiet place enjoying the view.

Lakeland Bears were created in 1986 by John and Wendy Phillips who, until their retirement in June 2002, spent much of their time dressing, photographing and selling their bears. As a growing number of these bears and associated items are now being resold, particularly on Ebay, it is hoped that the information here will provide some insight into the world of Lakeland Bears.

This web site was created for teddy bear lovers worldwide. In particular it is dedicated to the many people who visited the Lakeland Bear shops in Bowness-on-Windermere and Ambleside and especially for those who now share their homes with one or more of these unique furry characters.
